Common Issues
Setup Wizard not completing
The app is about 2.5 GB. The default model set is about 9–10 GB, or about 7 GB with the 0.6B LM. Keep 15–25 GB free for setup and generated tracks. If a download stalls, restart the app — it will resume where it left off.
Generation fails (“Model not found”)
Ensure the ACE-Step model weights are downloaded. Open Settings → Models and verify ACE-Step is installed. If not, re-run the Setup Wizard from Settings. The default model set needs about 9–10 GB; the 0.6B LM setup is about 7 GB.
Chat doesn’t respond (LLM configuration)
You need an LLM configured for the chat assistant. Go to Settings → Models to download a local model or connect an API provider (OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.). On a 16 GB Mac, choose Granite 4.0 h-micro (about 2 GB) rather than the default Qwen3-30B-A3B-Instruct-2507 chat model, which needs about 17 GB.
Which formats can I export?
From the Studio, a master or region exports as 24-bit WAV or AAC (.m4a); stems always export as 24-bit WAV. Loudness targets are Streaming −14, Club −7, and Broadcast −16 LUFS. Generated tracks in the Library export as WAV, FLAC, or M4A. There is no MP3 export and nothing needs ffmpeg.
Not enough memory / OUT_OF_MEMORY
The generation preflight checks the selected language model against available memory and blocks generation below that model's minimum, while warning below the recommended size. On a 16 GB Mac, choose the 0.6B LM in the Setup Wizard and generation panel, use Granite 4.0 h-micro for on-device chat, and close other apps before generating.
Sign-in & account
Publishing and account features use Sign in with Unicorn Commander — it’s free, with no license keys. Open Majik’s Music Studio and choose Sign in with Unicorn Commander to publish. Bought the old Pro Suite? Current builds don’t need a key — you can still recover a legacy key at majiks.studio/license if you need it.
