Common Issues
Setup Wizard not completing
The Setup Wizard downloads ACE-Step model weights (~6 GB) and your preferred LLM on first launch. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and enough disk space (~10 GB total). If a download stalls, restart the app — it will resume where it left off.
Generation fails (“Model not found”)
Ensure the ACE-Step model weights are downloaded. Open Settings → Models and verify ACE-Step is installed. If not, re-run the Setup Wizard from Settings. Requires ~6 GB of free disk space.
Chat doesn’t respond (LLM configuration)
You need an LLM configured for the chat assistant. Go to Settings → Models to download a local model or connect an API provider (OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.). 15+ presets are available.
MP3/M4A export not working
MP3 and M4A export requires ffmpeg. Install it by running: brew install ffmpeg in Terminal (requires Homebrew). Then restart the app. WAV and FLAC export work without ffmpeg. See Help inside the app for details.
Sign-in & account
Publishing and account features use Sign in with Unicorn Commander — it’s free, with no license keys. Open Majik’s Music Studio and choose Sign in with Unicorn Commander to publish. Bought the old Pro Suite? Current builds don’t need a key — you can still recover a legacy key at majiks.studio/license if you need it.
