Privacy Policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
This policy is from Magic Unicorn Unconventional Technology & Stuff Inc., doing business as Majik's Studio, 39 Paddlecreek Ave, Charleston, SC 29412, USA. It covers the Majik's desktop apps and the majiks.studio website; majiks.online, majiks.music, sounds.majiks.studio and Unicorn Commander accounts have their own policies.
The desktop apps
What stays on your Mac. Majik's Music Studio generates music on your machine. Prompts, lyrics, uploaded audio, generated songs, stems, projects, the project journal, settings and any API keys you enter (kept in the macOS Keychain) stay on your disk. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no account. We cannot see your music and never use it to train anything.
Update check. On startup, at most once every 12 hours, the app asks https://majiks.studio/api/version.json for the latest version, revealing only what any web request does: your IP address and the app's user agent. Turn it off in Settings ("Check for updates on startup"). An update you accept downloads through your browser (see Downloads below).
Model downloads. On first run the app downloads the ACE-Step model from Hugging Face (or its ModelScope mirror when Hugging Face is unreachable); chat models also come from Hugging Face, and the Demucs stem-separation model from Meta's servers the first time you split a song. Those hosts see only an ordinary download request, never your audio.
Optional services, each off until you turn it on.
- ACE Music Cloud (api.acemusic.ai): that generation's prompt, lyrics and any reference audio, under your own API key.
- A remote generation server you configure: the same material, to your server.
- An outside chat provider (OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Google Gemini, Ollama, LM Studio or a Unicorn Commander gateway): whatever you send to the assistant, under that provider's terms. Default: a local model, no key.
- Publishing to majiks.online: you sign in with Unicorn Commander; the audio, titles, metadata, lyrics and artwork you publish are uploaded, under majiks.online's policy.
- The sound-pack browser fetches its catalog from sounds.majiks.studio when opened.
- The local agent (MCP) server is off by default and listens only on your machine.
The app sections above describe Majik's Music Studio, which we verified line by line. Your content stays on your Mac in the other Majik's apps too, with these differences, verified in their source on October 21, 2026: Majiks DSP, Songwriter, Art Studio, Screen, Broadcaster and Player ask majiks.studio for a version file at launch (and then at most every 12 hours) until you turn that check off in their settings. Majik's DJ does not check for updates on its own, but its Enrich button sends audio fingerprints to AcoustID and asks MusicBrainz for track names, using a built-in key, when you click it. Songwriter's audio, lyric-alignment and artwork features talk to a Magic Unicorn server that is filled in by default, only when you use them. Broadcaster sends audio only when you start a broadcast to a server you entered; Screen uploads a video only when you choose to publish to majiks.online; Art Studio's cloud image and OpenRouter options stay off until you add a key.
The website (majiks.studio)
Analytics. We use our own Umami analytics service to understand website usage. Your browser sends the page address and title, referring page, website identifier, browser language and screen size through this site's /api/analytics endpoint, which forwards your IP address and browser user agent to Umami, including for approximate location reporting. The download page also records a download event (app, version, file format). These events never include your audio files or creative project content.
Cloudflare. Cloudflare serves and protects the website and receives connection information. Cloudflare Web Analytics auto-injection is disabled, so this site does not load Cloudflare's browser analytics beacon.
Server logs and downloads. Our servers keep ordinary access logs (IP address, user agent, time, page) for operations and security. Download requests are served from our CDN/storage provider and logged like any web request.
Legacy license lookup (/license). If you enter an email address there, we look it up in Stripe (our former payment processor) for early Pro Suite purchases, show a masked key and, if you ask, email the full key to the purchase address through Resend, our email provider. The form is rate-limited by IP address. We keep those purchase records (email, Stripe customer ID, Unicorn Commander account ID, order, license key) as long as we honor them and tax rules require.
Sign-in on the website. If you sign in with Unicorn Commander on this site (a leftover from the retired checkout), the login happens at auth.unicorncommander.ai under its policy, and we set a signed 7-day session cookie (name, email, account ID) plus two short-lived sign-in cookies.
Demo tracks and videos. Demo songs stream through our server from majiks.online, so your browser talks only to us. Embedded YouTube videos (privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com player) load from Google when the page does, under Google's policy.
Support. If you contact support, we use your email address solely to respond to your request.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent personal data, train AI on your content, track inside the apps, or run advertising or cross-site tracking.
Retention and your choices
Everything the apps create lives on your disk; delete the app, its Application Support folders and the model caches (the Manage Models pane clears them) and it is gone. Website analytics are aggregate, logs rotate as above, legacy purchase records are kept as described. Email [email protected] to see or delete what we hold about you; we will, unless a law requires us to keep a payment record. Our servers are in the United States.
Children
Not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 and will delete it if told.
Changes and contact
When this policy changes we update the date at the top and note it on the site. Questions: [email protected], or by mail at the address above.
